Charity Work Because so many great blues musicians come from impoverished backgrounds, they are quick to remember where they came from upon reaching a point in their musical careers where they’re considered a major success. Blues musicians are often some of the more charitable types of musical icons, supporting their communities and strengthening relationships in their neighborhoods so that future generations may prosper. This has also been said of folk musicians and periodically rock and R&B stars. Unfortunately, rap artists have very little concern for anyone but themselves
and usually spend their money on fast women, watches, Bentleys and
diamond pineapples. Perhaps rappers represent the younger, more competitive
and
generally more atavistic generation of people that are beginning to
lose their individuality, whereas blues music was born out of the overwhelming
sense of individuality and expression.
